Dentistry Designed Around You
Choosing a dentist is about more than finding someone who can fix a tooth. It is about finding a dental office whose approach to treatment, communication, materials, technology, and patient care aligns with what you value.
At Newport Beach Dental Studio, our philosophy is straightforward: diagnose carefully, explain honestly, preserve healthy tooth structure whenever possible, and perform dentistry with enough attention to detail that the result looks natural and functions comfortably.
Our care is personalized and intentionally unrushed. Whether you are visiting us for a routine examination, a single restoration, cosmetic dentistry, or a comprehensive smile makeover, the treatment plan begins with understanding your individual needs rather than fitting you into a predetermined procedure.
Preserving Natural Teeth Comes First
A natural tooth is difficult to replace. Once healthy enamel or dentin has been removed, it does not grow back. For that reason, Dr. Ha approaches restorative dentistry with an emphasis on preserving as much sound tooth structure as the clinical situation allows.
This may mean choosing a bonded filling, inlay, onlay, overlay, conservative veneer, or another partial-coverage restoration instead of automatically preparing a tooth for a larger restoration.
It does not mean that crowns, root canals, or more extensive treatment are never appropriate. Sometimes they are necessary. The goal is simply to perform the amount of dentistry the tooth actually needs—no more and no less.
This philosophy is closely related to biomimetic dentistry, which uses modern adhesive techniques and restorative materials to rebuild damaged teeth while respecting the mechanical behavior of natural enamel and dentin.
What Makes Newport Beach Dental Studio Different?
Technology and materials matter, but they are only useful when they improve how dentistry is diagnosed, planned, performed, or communicated.
Dental Materials Matter
Not all dental restorations are made from the same materials, and not every material performs the same way in every situation. We pay close attention to the materials, bonding systems, ceramics, composites, instruments, and fabrication methods used in our dentistry.
The Material Is Only Part of the Result
Using a premium ceramic or composite does not automatically produce excellent dentistry. The diagnosis, preparation design, bonding protocol, laboratory communication, occlusion, contours, finishing, and maintenance are equally important.
That is why Dr. Ha continually studies restorative materials, adhesive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, digital workflows, and conservative treatment concepts. The objective is not to collect technology or use a particular material simply because it is new. Each tool and material should have a clinical reason for being used.
Biomimetic & Minimally Invasive Dentistry
A significant part of our restorative philosophy is influenced by biomimetic concepts: understanding how natural teeth distribute forces and using adhesive techniques to restore damaged teeth while preserving healthy structure.
Dr. Ha has pursued advanced education in adhesive and biomimetic dentistry, including principles taught by internationally recognized clinicians such as Dr. Pascal Magne. These concepts influence how we evaluate cracks, large fillings, worn teeth, bonded ceramics, veneers, and other restorative procedures.
The result is not that every patient receives the same “biomimetic” treatment. It means preservation and adhesive dentistry are considered whenever they provide a reasonable clinical option.
A Digital Dental Studio
Much of our dentistry is planned digitally. Intraoral scanners can replace traditional impressions for many procedures, photography allows us to study teeth and smiles in detail, and digital design tools let us plan restorations before fabrication.
Our in-office technology includes digital scanning, CAD/CAM design, dental milling, 3D printing, high-resolution photography, 3D imaging, and AI-assisted tools. These technologies can improve communication, reduce unnecessary steps, and give us greater control over selected restorative and cosmetic workflows.

Cosmetic Dentistry Should Still Look Like Dentistry Never Happened
Our cosmetic philosophy favors natural proportions, appropriate translucency, subtle surface texture, and tooth shapes that make sense within the patient’s face.
A veneer does not need to look like a veneer. A crown should not announce itself as a crown. The objective is for the restoration to blend naturally with the teeth, gums, lips, and overall smile.
For larger cosmetic cases, digital scans and photography allow us to evaluate tooth length, width, smile curve, midline, line angles, gum levels, facial relationships, and other details before the final restorations are created.

What You Can Expect From Our Office
A good dental experience begins before treatment starts. We want patients to understand what we see, why something may need treatment, what alternatives exist, and what can reasonably be expected afterward.
Comfort Without Compromising the Dentistry
We understand that not everyone enjoys going to the dentist. Some patients have had difficult experiences in the past, while others simply feel anxious about dental treatment.
Our office is designed to feel calm and personal rather than rushed or clinical. Our team explains what is happening, answers questions, and works to keep treatment as comfortable as possible while still maintaining the standards required for high-quality dentistry.
Comprehensive Dentistry in Newport Beach
Our approach allows many aspects of dental care to be coordinated within one office. Depending on your needs, treatment may include preventive care, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, veneers, whitening, clear aligners, dental implants, periodontal care, digital dentistry, sleep-apnea oral appliance therapy, or comprehensive smile rehabilitation.
When a case requires another specialist or physician, we believe collaboration is part of good treatment planning. We regularly coordinate with dental specialists, physicians, anesthesiology providers, laboratories, and other clinicians when their expertise improves the patient’s care.
Dentistry We Can Stand Behind
Our goal is not to perform the most dentistry. It is to perform the right dentistry, using thoughtful planning, appropriate materials, careful technique, and a long-term perspective.
We want every patient to feel that their concerns were heard, their treatment was explained, and the dentistry was performed with the same attention to detail we would expect for ourselves.
