We created our TLC Dental Discount Plan for patients who do not have dental insurance and want a simple way to help manage the cost of routine dental care.
Instead of paying a monthly premium to an insurance company, the TLC Plan is purchased directly through our office. Your plan remains active for one year from the date you enroll and includes preventive visits along with a discount on qualifying treatment performed by Dr. Ha.
What Is Included in the TLC Plan?
A Dental Discount Plan Is Not Dental Insurance
The TLC Plan is an in-house dental discount plan offered directly by Newport Beach Dental Studio. It is not an insurance policy.
There is no insurance company deciding which procedures our office recommends. Treatment recommendations are based on Dr. Ha’s clinical examination, diagnostic records, and what is appropriate for your individual dental condition.
The plan simply provides the services listed on this page and a 10% discount on qualifying treatment performed by Dr. Ha during your active membership period.
An Important Note About Dental Cleanings
The two cleanings included with the TLC Plan are regular preventive prophylaxis cleanings.
A regular cleaning and periodontal treatment are not interchangeable. Patients cannot choose a regular cleaning simply because it is included in the plan if their periodontal examination indicates that another type of treatment is necessary.
If you have active periodontal disease, significant tartar below the gumline, periodontal pocketing, bone loss, or other findings, Dr. Ha may recommend scaling and root planing—commonly called a deep cleaning—or another appropriate periodontal therapy.
Deep cleaning is not included as one of the two prophylaxis cleanings in the TLC Plan.
Who Is the TLC Dental Plan For?
Our in-house plan may be useful for patients who want ongoing dental care but do not currently have traditional dental coverage.
Why We Offer an In-House Dental Plan
We do not want lack of dental insurance to be the reason someone avoids routine examinations and preventive care.
Small dental problems are generally easier to evaluate when they are found early. Regular examinations also allow us to monitor existing fillings, crowns, gum health, wear, cracks, and other changes over time.
The TLC Plan was created to make that ongoing relationship with our office more straightforward for patients who are paying for their dentistry without traditional dental insurance.

What About Treatment With a Specialist?
The 10% TLC Plan discount applies to qualifying treatment performed by Dr. Ha at Newport Beach Dental Studio.
If your treatment requires referral to an outside dental specialist or another healthcare provider, that provider establishes their own fees and the TLC Plan discount does not apply to treatment performed outside our office.

How much is the TLC Dental Discount Plan?
The plan costs $400 and remains active for one year from the date you enroll.
Is the TLC Plan dental insurance?
No. The TLC Plan is an in-house discount plan offered directly by Newport Beach Dental Studio. It is not an insurance policy.
How many cleanings are included?
The plan includes two regular prophylaxis cleanings during the active plan year when a prophylaxis is clinically appropriate for your periodontal condition.
Is a deep cleaning included?
No. Scaling and root planing, commonly called a deep cleaning, is different from a routine prophylaxis and is not included as one of the two regular cleanings.
Can I choose a regular cleaning instead of a deep cleaning?
No. The appropriate type of cleaning is based on your periodontal examination and clinical findings. If periodontal disease requires a different type of treatment, performing a routine cleaning instead would not appropriately treat the condition.
How much do I save on dental treatment?
Active TLC Plan members receive 10% off qualifying treatment performed by Dr. Ha.
Does the 10% discount apply to specialists?
No. Treatment performed through outside specialists or specialty referrals is not included in the TLC Plan discount.
When does my TLC Plan expire?
Your plan expires one year from the date you enroll.
Can I join if I do not have dental insurance?
Yes. The TLC Plan was specifically created as an option for patients who do not have dental insurance and would like a direct way to receive preventive care and savings through our office.
