Technology Driven Dentistry

Dentistry is evolving at an unprecedented pace—from advanced dental materials and procedures to cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment planning technologies. At Newport Beach Dental Studio, we are proud to be at the forefront of this transformation, using innovative tools and techniques to deliver exceptional care and the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Our commitment goes far beyond digital X-rays and paperless charting. We use in-office milling machines to create same-day crowns, reducing wait times and increasing convenience. With 3D printing technology, we fabricate custom oral appliances, surgical guides, 3D-printed fillings, and even 3D-printed like-like veneers with unmatched precision. Using 3D intraoral scanners, we can digitally capture and send scans to top-tier dental laboratories and technicians worldwide, ensuring the highest quality restorations. We also incorporate AI-assisted diagnostics to enhance the early detection of periodontal disease and tooth decay, improving accuracy and treatment outcomes.

At the heart of our practice is Dr. Ha’s dedication to personalized, tech-driven dentistry. Every decision we make is guided by what will benefit our patients most—ensuring care that is not only modern and efficient, but truly tailored to individual needs. Experience the future of dentistry, now.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology

AI detection software to detect cavities bone loss and calculus buildup

At Newport Beach Dental Studio, AI technology is utilized for many purposes. This includes automatically scanning radiographs and highlighting areas of concern, such as bone loss, decay, and tartar deposits. Additional uses of A.I. technology include mapping out important nerves for surgical procedures, such as dental implants, and the generation of dental restorations, including dental crowns, inlays, and onlays. We utilize AI technology to assist with digital smile designs and orthodontic treatments, enabling us to plan your future smile strategically.

Intraoral Dental Scanners

Trios Hyperspectral Technology

To further build upon A.I. technology, we utilize a top-tier Trios 6 intraoral dental scanner with extreme precision to scan the mouth and teeth for clear aligner therapy, oral appliances, smile designs, crowns, bridges, and more. This particular scanner utilizes advanced hyperspectral technology, capturing data across multiple light sources with every scan. This technology completely replaces traditional molds and impressions. With the advent of digital scanners, we can now send cases anywhere in the world with just a click of a button. We no longer have to rely on couriers to pick up and deliver patient cases, as all communication is now done digitally.

3D Printers

With the capability to print at 28 microns (a human hair measures 70 microns), our printers can print anything from night guards to ultra-thin 3D-printed veneers using ultra-strong, ceramic-infused resins.

Sprintray Midas

As of 2025, we’ve recently added the Sprintray Midas 3D printer to our line-up. This particular printer uses Digital Press Stereolithography, a patented printing method that replaces the resin, tank, and build platform with a resin capsule. This advancement allows Midas to print with highly filled resins, resulting in stronger, longer-lasting restorations.

Electric Handpieces

KAVO Electric Handpieces

Dental electric handpieces are advanced tools powered by electric motors, offering consistent torque and speed for more precise and efficient dental procedures. Unlike traditional air-driven handpieces, electric versions maintain a constant cutting force regardless of the material being treated, which results in smoother, quieter operation and improved patient comfort. They allow for greater control during treatments such as crown preparations, fillings, and surgical procedures, ultimately enhancing accuracy and clinical outcomes.

Dental Mills

Same Day Restorations

Having a dental mill in our office means we can have your crown ready the same day. The days of waiting two weeks for an outside lab to make and deliver your restorations are in the past. The combination of an intraoral scanner and mill changes this. We are efficient in our work and can mill perfectly fitting crowns every time.

DSLR Cameras

High Resolution Photography

At Newport Beach Dental Studio, we practice “facially-driven smile design.” This means we use facial photos and capture lip movements to plan your smile. We take into account your lips, gingival architecture, eyes, your midline, and more. Photos help us intricately design a beautiful, personalized smile.

Digital Smile Design

Digital Smile Design Technology

When performing smile makeovers, we scan and take high-resolution photos to digitally plan your smile, allowing you to review and adjust the plan until you are delighted with the digital outcome. With Digital Smile Design technology, we can show you before-and-after photos of your smile and make any necessary changes. There is no “one size fits all” smile, so personalizing your smile beforehand to meet your expectations is critical.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral Photos

Unlike intraoral scanners, we utilize intraoral cameras that can capture details with extreme precision, identifying any problems with your teeth or oral cavity. This includes oral lesions, cavities, cracks, stains, failed fillings, and broken restorations. As a part of our onboarding protocol, we take intraoral photos of all new patients, which are reviewed on our 65″ displays.

Cone Beam CT Machines

KAVO CBCT Machine

Our KaVo cone beam CT 3D X-Ray machine provides more information than traditional two-dimensional X-rays. These 3D x-rays are crucial for measuring bone levels to strategically plan dental implants, detecting cracks inside teeth that aren’t visible in conventional x-rays, identifying infections, and locating canals during root canal therapies.

OLED 4K Displays

4K OLED Displays

Besides watching entertaining videos at our office during your treatment, we utilize high-definition 4K displays to review photos, x-rays, and findings with our patients. This enables better patient-doctor communication that is easier to comprehend. Teeth with cavities, areas of bone loss, or broken teeth can effortlessly be displayed to our patients to show exactly why a particular treatment is recommended. It’s much nicer than using a mirror.
