Digital X-rays and how it benefits you

We have our own 3D (CBCT) scanner in our office
Whether you have jaw pain (TMD/TMJ), need dental implants, or require the removal of your wisdom teeth, a good, responsible dentist will need a 3D scan of your head and neck to visualize all important landmarks during your procedures and avoid any detrimental outcomes, such as nerve damage.
Not all dental offices have a CBCT scanner because they are costly; however, our patients’ safety and treatment outcomes are our top priority. By having our own 3D scanner (CBCT) in our office, we save you a trip to an X-ray center. It’s convenient for our patients and provides safety measures for major dental procedures such as implants and wisdom teeth extractions.

Remember the days when the doctor’s assistant would mix that powder and water, put it on a tray, and shove it all into your mouth for a crown, night guard, dental retainer, or Invisalign clear aligners?
Well, thankfully, at Newport Beach Dental Studio, those days are gone! If you need braces, crowns, a nightguard for grinding your teeth (also known as bruxism), or a mouthpiece, we can easily have them made with our digital scanner. It’s less messy, and we can send your scan files directly to our lab, rather than waiting for the mailman or a lab technician to come and pick up your impressions. It’s much faster, and our patients absolutely love it.
We offer same-day crowns
Sometimes patients are unable to wait days or weeks for a dental laboratory to make their crown. Perhaps you’ve lost a crown and are leaving for vacation the day after, or your tooth has broken and you need a crown to protect what’s left of it immediately. Fortunately, we have a special “milling” machine in our office that can make your crown in less than an hour. Come in for your appointment, and Dr. Ha at Newport Beach Dental Studio will prepare your tooth. We will then take a digital impression using a 3D scanner. Dr. Ha will mill your custom crown on the same day and deliver it to you. It’s like magic! This is convenient for our patients and saves a trip to return for a cementation appointment.
